Ven-Con Washington D.C. is the first in person Ven-Con since our Chicago event. The goal was the same: Work together as vendors and consultants to help associations achieve better outcomes with their technology products.

Ven-Con™ Virtual #2, October 15, 2024:

This second virtual meeting largely focused on discussion around potential governance options for Ven-Con as we move forward. The group also discussed factors that may contribute to the success or failure of technology projects.

This was the first virtual meeting where industry vendors and consultants gathered to continue these conversations. Attendees discussed the 5 W’s (Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How) needed to govern this collaboration.

Framing the Conversation:

The second Ven-Con Meeting was held in Chicago prior to the start of AMS Fest to allow greater participation.  We discussed how to potentially share resources, ideas and information. The group stressed the importance of creating a governance structure that would be equitable to all involved.

Ven-Con™ Alexandria, April 17, 2024:

Starting The Conversation:

The first ever Ven-Con meeting was held in Alexandria where 28 vendors and consultants came together to share ideas and explore ways to improve the outcomes of technology projects for the association industry. Using a facilitated process, they identified key pain points in the selection and implementation process and conducted in depth discussion on the following key topics areas:

  • Misalignment (between vendors, consultant and clients)
  • Selection Hell – Pain Points and Possible Solutions
  • Best Practices for Successful Technology Adoption

The day concluded with an invited panel of association C-level executives providing their insights on systems selection and implementation.
